# Travel research sources Researched 21 October 2026. This is a dated planning guide, not a live timetable or fare quote. ## UK air links and frequencies - [Aena — Málaga destinations](https://www.aena.es/en/malaga-costa-del-sol/airlines-and-destinations/airport-destinations.html). Saved HTML and extracted UK airport list accompany the film. Listed services can be seasonal. The research snapshot lists 22 UK airports, not every airport in the UK. - [Aena — Seville destinations](https://www.aena.es/en/sevilla/airlines-and-destinations/airport-destinations.html). Snapshot lists nine UK airports, including four London airports and five regional airports. This does not establish daily frequency on all routes. - [Ryanair — London to Málaga](https://www.ryanair.com/gb/en/flights/flights-from-london-to-malaga): daily London services stated by operator; published monthly starting fares. November 2026 monthly starting fare £24.99 each way. - [Ryanair — London to Seville](https://www.ryanair.com/gb/en/flights/flights-from-london-to-seville): daily Stansted services stated, selected-day Luton departures. Example London Luton to Seville, 2 November 2026, from £21.99 one way, as shown on retrieved page. Published flight time around 2h45. - [Ryanair — Seville flights](https://www.ryanair.com/gb/en/flights/flights-to-seville): examples show Manchester around 2h50 and Edinburgh around 3h15. Regional frequencies change by season; no single weekly count is promised in the film. ## Indicative fares, not a measured typical price - [easyJet — Manchester to Málaga](https://www.easyjet.com/en/cheap-flights/Manchester/Malaga): November 2026 monthly lowest from £18.49 per person one way, based on two people on the same booking. Lowest selected-date fare, not a representative price. The page contains a contradictory generic route-availability message; the route itself is independently supported by Aena. No current seat availability is inferred from the generic message. - [British Airways — Gatwick to Málaga low fare finder](https://www.britishairways.com/travel/low-price-finder/public/en_gb?cabin=M&destination=AGP&eId=113021&numNights=0&oneway=false&origin=LGW®ion=EUK): retrieved November 2026 lowest each-way fare £67, with other months roughly £50–£99. Read each-way and return booking conditions before purchase. - [Ride Worldwide — Spain flight information](https://www.rideworldwide.com/budcms/uploaded_files/destination_pdfs/Spain%2CGeorgeScottRides2025_1081259049.pdf): operator planning guide suggests £150–£250 economy return to Seville. This is dated 2025 and is used only as context, not current inventory. The film's **£100–£250 per adult return** figure is an editorial initial budgeting allowance inferred from these published examples, not a current statistical average, guaranteed fare or package price. Luggage, seat selection and transfers can add cost. School holidays and peak days may be substantially higher. No travel dates, departure airport or passenger mix were supplied. One-way examples must not be read as return prices. ## Road distances and driving time calculations All estimates are from OSRM's public driving service, using OpenStreetMap road data, queried 21 October 2026. Exact route geometries and returned metrics are retained in `*_route.json`; the summary is in `route_measurements.json`. - Málaga terminal-area coordinate 36.6749, -4.4894 → villa 37.850523, -4.962550: **181.4778 km, 133.625 minutes**; rounded to ≈182 km / 2h15. This is the calculated mixed-road route; toll and route preferences can produce alternatives. - Seville terminal-area coordinate 37.4239, -5.8931 → villa: **145.2 km / about 107 minutes**, using the model's faster A-4 route. Rounded to ≈145 km / 1h45–2h for planning. - Seville via Lora del Río and Posadas / A-431: **about 111 km / 119 minutes** in the model. Shorter distance does not necessarily mean a faster route. No claim that this is the only local-road option. - Bilbao ferry-port area at 43.350, -3.067 → villa: **about 818.8 km / 554 minutes**, rounded to 820 km / 9h15 before breaks. The coordinate is a port-area departure, not a booked vessel's gangway. - Calais / Coquelles area 50.93, 1.81 via Bordeaux and Irun → villa: **about 1,959.8 km / 1,264 minutes**, rounded to 1,960 km / 21 hours after the Channel crossing. UK approach, crossing, breaks, toll queues and hotels are additional. - Córdoba station-area coordinate 37.8883, -4.7891 → villa: **about 18.7 km / 23 minutes**. Allow roughly 25–30 minutes for the final road transfer, subject to traffic and access. Route inputs snap to nearby roads; the villa road endpoint is about 49 metres from the supplied coordinate. These are routing-model calculations, **not live traffic predictions or surveyed distances**. Airport collection, passport control, check-in, rest stops, charging/refuelling and delays must be added. Toll costs were not calculated. France and Bilbao road lines in the video use returned geometries; the sea route is expressly schematic. ## Rail connections - [Aena — Málaga airport train](https://www.aena.es/en/malaga-costa-del-sol/getting-there/trains.html): C1 connection to Málaga María Zambrano about 8 minutes. - [Córdoba official tourism — transport](https://www.turismodecordoba.org/transportes): city-to-city guidance gives Málaga–Córdoba about 50 minutes and Seville–Córdoba about 40 minutes. - [Trainline — Málaga to Córdoba, current Spanish page](https://www.thetrainline.com/es/horarios-trenes/malaga-maria-zambrano-a-cordoba): retrieved 27 October 2026 example timetable shows fast services from 52 minutes, others over an hour. Film uses ≈50–70 minutes with longer services possible, rather than asserting every train takes 50 minutes. - [Aena — Seville airport bus](https://www.aena.es/en/sevilla/getting-there/bus.html): EA airport bus. - [Tussam EA official route leaflet](https://www.tussam.es/sites/default/files/descarga_planos/plano_linea_EA_TUSSAM_202507_0.pdf): EA stop at Santa Justa railway station. - [Trainline — Seville to Córdoba](https://www.thetrainline.com/es/horarios-trenes/seville-a-cordoba): fast rail services about 40–45 minutes; some slower services exist. - [Renfe — July 2026 operating notice](https://grupo.renfe.com/es/es/sala-de-prensa/avisos/2026/julio/renfe-ajusta-horarios-trenes-avant-andalucia): Andalucía timetables were revised after infrastructure restrictions. The film advises checking current operating notices and allowing connection margins. These are **station-to-station** rail times. Neither airport-to-villa connection is advertised as a single direct train. Seville Airport requires a bus/taxi to Santa Justa. The villa needs a final road transfer from Córdoba. ## Driving through France and ferry to Bilbao - [LeShuttle official information](https://www.leshuttle.com/uk-en/trade/coach-operators/coach-calendar-and-fares): 35-minute crossing duration. This source is a coach-operator page; the film uses only the tunnel transit duration, not coach check-in or coach fares as car conditions. - [Brittany Ferries — Portsmouth to Bilbao](https://www.brittany-ferries.co.uk/ferry-routes/ferries-spain/portsmouth-bilbao/about): up to two departures per week and a two-night southbound sailing; seasonal variations apply. - [Brittany Ferries — car ferry](https://www.brittany-ferries.co.uk/ferry-routes/ferries-spain/portsmouth-bilbao/car-ferry): cars and passengers carried. The film does not misrepresent the £129 foot-passenger mini-cruise promotion as a car-and-cabin fare. Ferry schedules, ship allocations and crossing times vary. Exact sailing duration, cabin, passenger and vehicle fare should be checked for chosen travel dates. The film intentionally avoids a fixed car-ferry fare without dates and party size. ## Images and maps See `CREDITS.md` and `media_sources.json` for exact photograph pages, authors and licences. Photos are real airport, railway-station and Galicia ferry images, not generated travel scenes. Galicia is illustrative of Brittany Ferries; the film makes no ship-allocation promise. - [Natural Earth public-domain terms](https://www.naturalearthdata.com/about/terms-of-use/). - [IGN official map services](https://www.ign.es/web/en/ide-area-nodo-ide-ign). - [IGN geographic-data licence](https://www.ign.es/resources/licencia/Condiciones_licenciaUso_IGN.pdf). - [OpenStreetMap copyright and ODbL](https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright).
